Transformative Language Arts (TLA) Network helps us tell our truths while empowering our communities to share theirs.

Thanks to the loving support of people like you, we have:

  • Hosted over 200 classes in the last dozen years for over 1,500 participants that helped them better serve their communities through offerings hundreds of workshops, collaborative projects, readings, performances, and educational programs.

  • Organized 20 annual Power of Words conferences for writers, storytellers, health professionals, educators, artists, community leaders, and other change-makers from over 25 countries to investigate and celebrate the transformative power of words.

  • Offered a certification in Transformative Language Arts with integrated education, networking, and support to help people make TLA an integrated part of their lives and work. 

  • Hosted over a dozen virtual salons and other special events for global participants to share and witness new writing, storytelling, and performance.

Join us in contributing to TLAN in our 20th year in supporting people who use writing, storytelling, theater, music, and other arts for community, meaning, and change.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 by the end of 2026.

The TLA Network exists to support and promote individuals and organizations that use the spoken, written, or sung word as a tool for personal and community transformation.

The Transformative Language Arts Network (TLAN) is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in our offerings, organization, and aspirations. Words have the power to question, subvert, and transform limiting cultural narratives as well as reinforce entrenched stories and stereotypes.
