Call for Proposals

celebrateFrom now until April 1, we will be accepting proposals for people interested in offering their work to others October 11-13 Power of Words Conference just outside of Philadelphia at Pendle Hill (a Quaker retreat center). Once March ends our Proposal Selection Committee will spend time together reading them over, and we will announce accepted workshops by May. As before, we will focus on four themes for workshops: Narrative Medicine / Healing Stories, Right Livelihood, Social Activism, and Engaged Spirituality. To read more about the details of these areas, please check out their descriptions on the conference page.

A difference this year is the option to submit a proposal for 90 minute or 45 minute slot. Check out our thoughts about how these times might be used differently, at Workshop Type Guidelines, and let us know if you have any question.

Please note: Because we come together to share our gifts and learn from each other, and because we are a small organization, we ask all presenters to all presenters to attend, register and pay for the full conference. Scholarships and work-study positions that cover half the cost of registration are available for all, and through the Roxanne-Florence Fund, larger scholarships for people of color are available. The approximately cost of the conference is under $200 (early bird registration) with room and board packages starting at $190.

The form for proposal submission is here, and we hope you both (a) consider proposing something yourself and (b) send this information to people you know who have something powerful to offer.
